History

Specialist Solutions Ltd was incorporated in July 2002 and started trading in July 2003 as a member of the IFA Network 300. Specialist Solutions status changed from Ltd to plc in April 2007.

Specialist Solutions Ltd was founded by Ian and Abigail Jones, who remain the majority shareholders. The directors of the company are: Ian Jones, Abigail Jones and Nicolas Wright. In July 2003 the company had eight Regulated Financial Advisers.

In October 2003 Specialist Solutions Ltd established its Headquarters at Arle Court, Hatherley Lane, Cheltenham, which is the current address. In February 2006 Specialist Solutions Ltd opened a branch office in Exeter.

In 2004 Specialist Solutions Ltd ceased being a network member and became authorised and regulated by The Financial Services Authority.

In December 2005 Edge Tax Consultancy Ltd commenced trading and moved to Arle Court in February 2006.

In November 2007 Specialist Solutions became authorised to provide services throughout the member states of the EEA (European Economic Area), through the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID).

In March 2009 Specialist Solutions plc gained Chartered status and the Directors are now Ian Jones and David Quarrell.

During 2006 and 2007 three Regulated Financial Advisers joined Specialist Solutions, taking the total number from 8 to 11.
